As of 24.03.20 there are a number of precautions and restrictions that the UAE government has implemented. Residents should stay home unless necessary to buy items such as food or medicine, or to work. Fines and jail terms await those who do not comply with authorities’ safety measures. The Ministry of Interior has called on the public only to use personal vehicles and to limit passengers to three per car. In addition, residents are required to avoid public places, maintain social distancing, and avoid hospitals unless in a critical or emergency case.
There is not yet a ban on working in offices, but all schools are implementing distance-learning measures.
