Another wave could emerge. As of now, the compliancy of the public to social distance is allowing the cases of COVID 19 to fall. However, if the government tries to phase the country back into normality too quickly, this could increase the risk of a second peak of infections. Guidelines must continue to be enforced to avoid another wave, which could be catastrophic when paired with the colder weather in the autumn months. A second peak coinciding with the flu season would cause immense strain on the NHS.
